Community Involvement

Greenville is a wonderful city in which to live and raise a family. I want my children to find Greenville to be as special as I do, so I give back whenever I am able. The following are a few of my favorite organizations:

Governor’s School for the Arts Foundation: I currently serve as Chair of the Board for this Foundation, which supports the Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities. The funds we raise help ensure that South Carolina’s artistically-talented students have the best experience and opportunities possible during their time at the School.

Euphoria - Rapp
Euphoria: Since its creation I have advised Local Boys Do Good – the charity which presents the Euphoria food, wine, and music festival in Greenville each September. The net proceeds from the festival are donated back to local charities, particularly those related to providing food, music, or support for children. This event may be my favorite weekend of the year – and it gets better every year!

Metropolitan Arts Council: The breadth and quality of our artistic community is a real selling point for Greenville, and MAC is responsible for much of the success of Greenville’s artists and arts organizations. As a long-time member of the Board of Directors, I support Greenville’s visual artists, musicians, and actors whenever I can.

Cub/Boy Scouts: As boy I loved Scouting, and I eventually earned the highest rank of Eagle Scout. To now have the opportunity for hiking, camping, and leadership training with my two boys is a great pleasure.

YMCA Soccer - Spring 2015
YMCA Youth Soccer: After I got talked into coaching my younger son’s soccer team 6-7 year old soccer team at the Caine Halter YMCA, I fell in love with everything about it. I look forward to practices and games every week. My teams are all about teamwork, good sportsmanship, and having fun. This year, we’re moving up to the 8-9 year old league.
